100MB iomega zip disk

100MB of high tech storage.

In 1994 I was 10 years old and my dad helped me build my own computer. Back then 100MB was a lot of space and this Zip disk was a brand new alternative to the 3.5” floppy disk which could hold a grand total of 1.44MB.

Today my media server has over 100TB of storage or roughly a million times more than this Zip disk.

If you took the data on my media server and put it on Zip disks and stacked them up they would be nearly 8 times the height of the Burj Khalifa.
