Some flavors of linear regression result in a straight line called a trend line. However, some kinds of linear regression (like the cubic polynomial regression in the second graph below) result in curves instead of straight lines. I’ve started referring to those curves as “trend bends” which I think is a much better name than “curved trend line”. I hope it turns into a thing.
